1 Day Short Course 4WD Driver Training
This one day 4WD training course conducted at our
class leading 4WD training facility is designed for those pressed for
time who need the basics in how to drive their four wheel drive or all
wheel drive vehicle off road. It is ideally suited to the recreational
four wheel driver. The short course 4WD programme will provide skills
in selected four wheel drive terrain including track appreciation and
wheel placement, mud driving, steep inclines and declines, rocky terrain
and use of recovery straps.

What is Included in the One Day Short Course 4WD Training
Programme
Training for up two drivers in your vehicle.
Morning tea
4WD Operators Manual.
Certificate of Completion
Eligibility for use of our special client discount cards for accessories,
servicing and camping gear.
Cost
1 day Short Course 4WD Driver Training Programme (recreational
users)
$375 per vehicle one driver
$50 extra person in same vehicle, Children under 16 $20
Note: a minimum of two vehicles is required for each
one day course or the individual training (one vehicle) fee is $450
first driver + $50 for each extra driver.
Refund Policy
Deposits are non refundable but may be transferred to another course/tour
at our discretion

The 1 day Short Course 4WD Training Programme offers training in:-
Understanding how your 4WD system works
Basic Maintenance and fault checking
How to find the smoothest path to follow on any given surface
High and Low Range application
Use of brakes and engine braking
The difference between automatic and manual transmissions off road
Different traction control devices
How to drive through mud
How to drive up steep inclines
How to drive down steep declines
How to cross deep washouts
How to drive over rocky and broken ground
How to perform a forward and reverse stall start recovery
How to safely use a snatch strap
Where
Great Divide Tours owns an exclusive property on the outskirts of Braidwood
in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Just 3 hours drive from Sydney, 2
hours from Wollongong and 1 hour from Canberra it is ideally located
for easy access. This property has been developed with four wheel drive
training in mind. Fully approved by Council this is a state of art training
facility. It is in a picturesque bushland setting typical of the type
of terrain that you are likely to encounter when using your 4WD. The
nearby town of Braidwood provides fuel, supplies and accommodation.
Camping on the property is included in your training fee cost.
When
These one day courses can be conducted at anytime to suit you provided
our training facility is not already in use. Call 02 9913 1395 to check
availability.
If you wish to camp over night either before or after the course you
may use our camp ground and facilities for $20 per vehicle.
Bunk House accommodation is also available for $20 per bunk bed (provide
your own linen etc)

Please note that whilst the training provided does follow the Nationally
Recognised standard for training in the various aspects of 4WD operation,
no training is provided in sand driving or winch operation and therefore
the course does not satisfy the requirements for issue of a Statement
of Attainment at the Nationally Recognised level. Those wishing to achieve
this or requiring training for employment related purposes should attend
